The Women in Tech Hackathon 2025, organized by Riga TechGirls, is back for its 6th edition! 🎉 This year’s theme – “Automation. Impact. Security.” – challenges participants to build innovative solutions that harness automation 🤖, ensure security 🔐, and create a meaningful impact 🌍.

How It Works

Step 1: Register

Start by registering to participate. Once registered, you’ll gain access to the HackTribe platform, where you can post your idea, find teammates, or join an existing team.

Please read the Code of Conduct and hackathon Guidelines before registering.

Although you can build anything your heart desires during the hackathon, we suggest reading what Challenges our partners have set for the participants!

📅 Team formation & idea development runs until March 28 at 17:30.

Team structure: 2-6 participants with complementary roles, one of them is Team Lead (selected by participants). As our hackathon is aimed at supporting new female founders, each team should have at least two female participants in it and it is ok to have an all-female team.

Step 2: Hack

The hackathon begins on March 28 in the evening with an opening ceremony, where we’ll introduce the prizes, evaluation criteria, and the journey ahead. Then, the real work begins – teams will collaborate to turn their ideas into solutions and prototypes.

During the event:

• Four mentor checkpoints will help keep your team on track
• Expert mentors will be available for consultations on March 29
• A dedicated team mentor will guide you along the way

Attending the checkpoints is mandatory, unless your team mentor says otherwise.

Step 3: Submit & Pitch

📅 On March 30, teams will submit their final solutions, followed by:

• Live demos & pitches in front of the jury
• Winners announced on the spot

After the hackathon, no strings are attached – you’re free to continue developing your project however you like.
